CELBAN Speaking Test
The CELBAN Speaking Test is a virtual interview delivered remotely at a location of the examinee’s choosing. The location must meet CELBAN's remote test requirements. To learn more about CELBAN remote test requirements, please

The testing location must be indoors, well lit, and free of background noise and disruptions. Only a laptop or a desktop computer may be used during the exam. The use of a good quality, wired headset with a microphone is mandatory for test security purposes, as well as to allow examinees to clearly hear the examiner, and the examiner clearly hear the examinee. The wired headset will need to be plugged into the computer prior to an examinee entering their appointment.
The CELBAN Speaking Test takes up to 35 minutes to complete. The interview is conducted over Zoom, a video conferencing platform, by trained CELBAN examiners. Examinees should plan to arrive on time to allow adequate time for the examiner to complete a set of check-in procedures. If examinees arrive later than five (5) minutes after their scheduled appointment time, they will not be allowed to complete the test.
If the examiner has confirmed that all testing and security requirements have been met, the examinee will proceed into the interview. During the interview, the examiner will have examinees answer questions and engage in role play. The examiner will share role play prompts on the screen for examinees to review necessary information that is required to prepare their responses to select tasks. The prompts will remain visible on the screen for the duration of the task.
The interview will be recorded so that a second trained examiner can rate it independently, as well as verify the score, if needed, and for future quality assurance checks.
