Resources for Educators
Touchstone Institute and the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks recognize that the development of policy, regulation, educational programs, and test preparation courses depends on detailed information about the exam. On the other hand, both organizations are dedicated to CELBAN test security, and acknowledge the importance of keeping exam content confidential. The materials in this section of our website offer details in support of our stakeholders needs.
Institutional CELBAN
Institutional CELBAN continues to be used by not-for-profit organizations, publicly funded post-secondary institutions and school boards to complement their programming for internationally educated health professionals. Institutional CELBAN was designed as a practice kit for the paper-based exam. With the official CELBAN moving to an online delivery platform starting in 2021, the booklet format laid out in the Institutional CELBAN materials will no longer be supported. However, this does not mean that all of its materials’ relevance is lost for those organizations that had been approved for its purchase in the past. To learn more, please

CELBAN Preparation Program Curriculum Guidelines
The CELBAN Centre offers a set of curriculum guidelines for educators and institutions that can support the development of CELBAN test preparation programs and materials. These guidelines follow a CELBAN approach to test washback: that developing foundational language skills that are directly associated with daily nursing communication will support IENs’ professional registration journey.
